The Hive House Story: From the Front Line to the Front Shelf

In the spring of 2015, three new recruits—"Ocky", "Fox", and "Macho"—met at the fire academy. While they were embarking on a lifelong career in the fire service, they didn't yet realize they were also forming the foundation of a flavor revolution.

The journey truly began in 2018. Drawing on years of experience working in a pizzeria throughout his teens, Ocky decided to bring his passion for cooking to the streets. With Fox and Macho by his side, they spent their off-duty hours building out what would become the Delterra Pizza Truck. Whether they were spinning pies, manning the ovens or working the window, the trio quickly turned the truck into a local staple. The real magic happened when Ocky developed a signature hot honey recipe for their most popular pie, the BEE STING. The reaction was immediate. What started as a pizza topping quickly became the star of the show. Customers weren't just ordering the pizza; they were asking to buy the honey by the bottle to take home. Recognizing the potential, the boys began bottling the recipe, and it wasn't long before local pizzerias and restaurants started reaching out to get Hive House on their own menus.

Fast forward to today, and Hive House has grown far beyond the back of a pizza truck. Now a local favorite, our hot honey is a staple in professional kitchens and home pantries alike. We’ve expanded our footprint online through our website and Amazon, and we are proud to be stocked in several grocery chains—including over 40 ShopRite locations and counting.

Our mission remains the same as it was on day one at the academy: service and quality. As we look toward the future, Hive House is focused on partnering with major distribution networks to bring our hot honey to tables nationwide.

You can actually see and taste the Calabrian chili puree in this. I threw it on my homemade pepperoni pizza. It pours easier than regular honey, too, so you don't end up with a huge globs. Highly recommend if you actually like the taste of chilis.
